I'm Still Here (ENG subs)

Based on the memoirs of Marcelo Rubens Paiva, I’m Still Here tells the true story of the disappearance of his father, former congressman Rubens Paiva, during Brazil’s military dictatorship in the 1970s. The lives of Rubens Paiva’s wife, Eunice (played by Fernanda Torres), and their five children change abruptly—and forever—after his disappearance. Eunice is imprisoned and pressured by the regime to betray her friends and family. When she is released 12 days later, she does everything in her power to resist the corrupt regime and fight for the rights of thousands of disappeared innocent citizens and their families.

Director Walter Salles (Central Station, The Motorcycle Diaries, On the Road) returns to fiction filmmaking after a long hiatus, creating this powerful portrait in his home country of Brazil for the first time in 16 years. The film became a major box office hit in Brazil. It premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and actress Fernanda Torres won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in the category ‘Motion Picture – Drama.’
