The film tells the story of Carrie White. A reclusive teenager who struggles to socialize and make friends. She is the subject of much mocking and bullying by her peers, including her domineering and religiously cynical mother. Carrie becomes aware that she has the power of telekinesis. Carrie keeps this power hidden from her peers until she is invited to her schools prom.
