Chinatown Cha-Cha (+ aftertalk)

Chinatown Cha-Cha is a compelling feature documentary centered on a group of elderly Chinese women, aged 70 to 90, who continue to express themselves through dance.

At its heart is a touring dance troupe of nonagenarian Chinese women who remain active on stage, using movement to sustain their vitality and cultural identity. 
Through intimate and visually rich storytelling, the film challenges stereotypes about aging, Asian identity, and the role of elderly women in society.
It presents a powerful vision of resilience and self-expression, and offers a moving exploration of life’s possibilities beyond conventional expectations.
