Join Just Peace The Hague for a special evening organised in collaboration with World Youth for Climate Justice, Pacific Island Students Fighting Climate Change, Interactive Media Foundation, Humanity Hub, and Flora Filmtheater on the eve of the International Court of Justice’s landmark advisory opinion on climate change obligations.

On 23 July, the ICJ will issue its much-anticipated nonbinding opinion on the legal responsibilities of states to tackle climate change. This decision is expected to influence climate litigation worldwide and address whether major greenhouse-gas-emitting states should be held liable for the damage inflicted upon small island nations and vulnerable communities.

About the Film – YUMI: The Whole World
YUMI: The Whole World is an inspiring documentary following Pacific Island students as they lead a global campaign to seek climate justice through the world’s highest court. The film captures their determination, cultural strength, and legal advocacy, culminating in the movement for an ICJ advisory opinion that will shape global climate law.

Programme

  • 17:30 – Film Screening: YUMI: The Whole World
  • Followed by: Short conversation with representatives from WYCJ and PISFCC
  • Closing with: Networking drinks at Flora

As we await this historic ruling, come together for an evening of cinema, reflection, and dialogue on the power of youth-led climate justice movements shaping our collective future.
