The French box office hit L'amour ouf is an epic cocktail of nostalgia, love, and violence.

Director Gilles Lellouche (Le grand bain) brings together a star-studded French cast for a raw, romantic fairy tale set in the 1980s and 1990s. Drawing inspiration from Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and West Side Story, Lellouche gives a modern twist to the classic Romeo and Juliet narrative.

L'amour ouf tells the story of teenage love blossoming between misfit Jackie and rebellious Clotaire. Their relationship is severely tested when Clotaire chooses a life of crime. After landing in prison due to gang violence, the two lose contact. Years later, Clotaire tries to rebuild his life and sets out to find Jackie. Can love conquer all?

L'amour ouf was featured in competition at the Cannes Film Festival and received no less than 13 nominations at the César Awards. Rising stars Mallory Wanecque and Malik Frikah impress as the doomed teenagers, while the adult versions of Clotaire and Jackie are portrayed by François Civil (Back to Burgundy) and Adèle Exarchopoulos (Blue Is the Warmest Colour).
