In de zomer van 2002 staan beste vriendinnen Minnie en Callie aan de vooravond van hun laatste schooljaar. Callie is de ster van hun middelbare school, terwijl Minnie zich liever in haar schaduw begeeft. Wanneer er plotseling iets gebeurt dat een einde maakt aan hun vriendschap, zal Minnie haar eigen identiteit moeten vinden, iets waarvoor ze steun zoekt bij Callie’s moeder. Mouse is een subtiel coming-of-age drama over vriendschap, identiteit en de pijn van loslaten. Met Ghostlight wonnen regisseurs Alex Thompson en Kelly O’Sullivan in 2024 de American Indie Competitie op LIFF. Nu zijn ze terug met een film die het LIFF publiek opnieuw zal weten te raken.

In the summer of 2002, best friends Minnie and Callie are on the verge of their final year of high school. Callie is the star of the school, while Minnie prefers to stay in her shadow. When an unexpected event brings their friendship to an end, Minnie must find her own identity, a journey for which she seeks support from Callie’s mother. Mouse is a subtle coming-of-age drama about friendship, identity, and the pain of letting go. Directors Alex Thompson and Kelly O’Sullivan previously won the American Indie Competition at LIFF in 2024 with Ghostlight; now, they return with a film that will resonate with the LIFF audience once again.
