The Balconettes starts off sunny but quickly takes a bloody turn. This pitch-black comedy with a feminist message (written by Noémie Merlant and Céline Sciamma, both known for Portrait of a Lady on Fire) is a deliciously edgy mix of comedy, drama, horror, and a clever dose of satire.

Actress Élise, writer Nicole, and webcam girl Ruby have a perfect view of their neighbors' lives from their balcony. During a heatwave, the temperature rises even more when the attractive neighbor invites them for a late-night drink. Things take an unexpected turn. In the chaotic aftermath, the dynamics between men and women are sharply called into question.
