Before returning to ordinary life, De Santis must decide on two major issues that still lie before him: clemency requests from controversial prisoners and a euthanasia law. La Grazia was the opening film at the Venice Film Festival, where Toni Servillo received the award for Best Actor. “Sorrentino has made some beauties in his career. This is one of his best” (Deadline).
